Founded in 2007 by Ryan Prange, FWL operates out of a small studio office in Encinitas. Ryan continues to lead the Design and Operations of Falling Waters Landscape alongside his brother Garrett Prange. What began as a small water-feature and design company has since grown into a well-respected, sometimes awarded, Landscape Architecture and Construction firm.
RYAN PRANGE
Founder & Managing Director
Ryan Prange founded Falling Waters Landscape in 2007, growing the business from a small water feature company into a respected landscape architecture and construction studio. A California native, Ryan leads the firm’s design and operations, creating projects throughout Southern California and abroad that reflect his signature “warm and inviting” style. Influenced by travel, gardening, and cooking, Ryan’s work is rooted in his early experiences helping his father care for the La Valencia Hotel landscape in La Jolla—shaping his passion for plants, craftsmanship, and creating spaces that make people feel good.
GARRETT PRANGE
Principal Landscape Architect #7064
Garrett grew up working in landscape maintenance, eventually transitioning into design and construction after studying landscape architecture and pursuing creative passions in music and art. He joined his brother at Falling Waters full-time in 2014, bringing a broad range of experience across residential and commercial projects. Today, Garrett is a licensed Landscape Architect, certified arborist, and C-27 contractor, combining art, science, and a love of the natural world in his work.
STACY PRANGE
Office Manager
Stacy Prange, a native of Encinitas, CA, developed a deep appreciation for landscape from an early age, inspired by her father's influence. Beyond her professional interests, her greatest passion lies in her family, and she cherishes opportunities to travel with them as often as possible.
MADISON WERNLI
Project Coordinator
Madison Wernli, a San Diego native, brings a deep-rooted passion for plants to her work in landscape design. With a B.S. in Plant Sciences from Cal Poly SLO and an A.A. in Landscape Architecture, she focuses on creating functional, nature-connected spaces that inspire and endure.
CHRIS HUANG
Lead of Design Development
Chris joined Falling Waters in 2022 after earning his B.S. in Landscape Architecture from UC Davis. With a background in architecture and a focus on design development, he brings thoughtful precision and cross-disciplinary insight to every project.
MIZUHO GONZALEZ
Principal Designer
Mizuho Gonzalez is a designer with roots in Mexico and Chile, whose work is shaped by a love for materials, culture, and place. With degrees in Design and Sustainable Landscape Design, she creates grounded, harmonious spaces that connect people to nature and reflect their surroundings.
LORI MCCABE
Designer
Lori brings over a decade of interior design experience shaped by her global travels and love for handmade details. She believes thoughtful design should feel as good as it looks—creating spaces where people want to gather, connect, and live fully. Now based in Ocean Beach, she blends creativity, collaboration, and a hands-on approach into every project.
CONNOR BASS
Associate Designer
Connor Bass blends environmental science with landscape design to create outdoor spaces that connect people to nature. Originally from Minneapolis, he brings an ecosystem-based approach rooted in his background guiding wilderness expeditions and his studies in landscape architecture and permaculture.
BEN NARES
Construction Manager
Ben Nares is Carlsbad native who enjoys surfing and spending time with his family. Ben has over 25 years experience in Construction and leads all FWL projects.
